Bukhtarma Reservoir can be compared to a beautiful pearl in a precious setting of mountains and coniferous forests. It is a favorite recreation place for residents and guests of Eastern Kazakhstan.
The reservoir is one of the largest and most beautiful artificial reservoirs in the world. It is one of the five world leaders by size. Its area is 5,490 square kilometers. The enormous size of the reservoir has formed numerous bays and coves. The Bukhtarma reservoir is also called a sea, which is generally true. Fishing is well developed here. Dozens of boarding houses, sanatoriums and recreation centers are built here. Fanciful rocks, picturesque landscapes, sandy beaches and quiet bays create an unforgettable coastal panorama. One of the most popular is Blue Bay! In Soviet times, this was the name of the sanatorium. This is truly a magical place! The rocks are as layered as a pile of ironed laundry. And the water may well compete with the Baikal water in terms of transparency.
There are cottages for tourists in different price segments, differing not only by interior, but also by the availability of hot water, sanitary facilities and distance from the shoreline. Every year the coastline and the shoreline are cleaned.
There are many entertainments: boat rides, walks on catamarans, water amusements on "frogs", watercrafts and zorbas. The air on Bukhtarma is unusual, filled with the aroma of pine trees and the smell of motley grass. The spirit of freedom reigns everywhere. Among the pine trees coming down on the rocks right up to the water you can see squirrels and squirrels frolic.
You'll also find a great fishing spot! There is an abundance of silver carp, pike, bream, bass, minnow. In the pine forest it is nice to pick mushrooms and berries.
