Kiin-Kerish

The Keene-Kerish tract is a deposit of mottled, mostly red clay, opened by erosion. The city of spirits is the name of the place with unearthly, Martian scenery. The clays, eroded by water and wind, form a very vivid, bizarre landscape here. The layered tertiary clays are unimaginable in beauty and originality, with unique red, white and orange structures. From afar the red clay cliffs and precipices of Kiin-Kerish look like flames bursting in the wind. This is why they are called "Blazing cliffs".

They are located in the Kurchum district of East Kazakhstan region. It is difficult to find Kiin-Kerish without a guide, because there are no signs, and it is located in a low place, in a kind of crater, as if in a volcano crater.
