Kyrykungir burial ground is located 2 km to the north of Toktamys batyr (Bestamak) village of Abay district. The object is localized on one of the elevations of hilly terrain, between two Muslim cemeteries of our period, 350 meters to the west of Kyrykungir mountain. On Mount Kyrykungir there are many small grottos and caves, which explains the name of the burial ground (from the Kazakh "kyryk" - forty, "ungir" - cave).
