Shilikty burial mound (Kazakh: Shilikty korymy) - early Sak barrows, located in the Zaisan district of Eastern Kazakhstan, in the valley surrounded by ridges Tarbagatai, Sauyr, Manyrak, 100 km south of Lake Zaisan.
In total more than 200 barrows of the epoch of early nomads are revealed, including 50 - "imperial", in diameter to 100 m at a height of 8-10 m. About 120 barrows are concentrated in the valley center.
Mound No. 5 (diameter 66 m, height 6 m), the materials of which are the most famous, was examined in 1960. The barrow was a rectangular structure made of larch logs, the gaps between which were filled with stone. The structure measured 4.8 × 4.6 m and was 1.2 m high and was sunk 1 m into the ground. There was a dromos on the eastern side. The barrow was enclosed by a ring of three rows of large stone. In spite of the fact that the barrow was plundered in antiquity, samples of gold items executed in the traditions of the Scythian-Siberian "animal style" were found in it - 535 gold items. Among them are plaques in the form of a deer with bent legs, decorating the quiver; contoured figures of eagles with turned back head; cat predators curled up in a ring; figurines of wild boars and fish carved from foil and decorated with turquoise and grain inlays; plaques in the form of a bird with outspread wings, etc. 13 bronze arrowheads were found with the remains of the quiver.
