The former office of gold industrialist A.S. Menovshchikov

At the beginning of the twentieth century in Ust-Kamenogorsk in Bazarny Alley (nowadays Tokhtarov Street) at the intersection with Troitskaya Street (nowadays Karl Liebnecht Street) a two-storey brick house was built. Its owner was Andrey Savelievich Menovshchikov, the owner of gold mines in Kurchum and Maikapchagai.

In 1907 the construction was finished, in 1914 another wing was completed. This building housed his home and office. In Soviet times, since the early 1930s, the printing house was located here. In 1958, when the regional printing house was too small, an addition was built along K. Libneht street, which gave the building an L-shape. After the printing house moved to special premises, in 1995 the old building was given to the Museum of Arts.

The architecture of the building is in the eclecticism style, there is no unity of forms, with a displacement of motifs of antique origin. The main facade is decorated with pilasters, complex cornice and other decorative elements. The decor of the arched window platbands of the first floor is in the character and pattern of details connected with Renaissance style and the rectangular windows of the second floor with Russian style. The complex cornice with pilasters runs along the main facade and a simple one along the side facade. The ends of the building are blank. The main material is brick. The interior layout of the building is now completely altered.
