Shemonaikha Local History Museum has been one of the main centers of the social and cultural life of the district since its foundation to the present day.
Shemonaikha district is the birthplace of two well-known writers: G.D.Grebenshchikov and A.S.Ivanov. The museum holds materials about their life and work, especially about Ivanov's - photographs, documents, autographed books by the author, handwritten scripts for the films "Shadows Disappear at Noon" and "Eternal Call".
