The museum's fund materials are divided into 11 collections: "Painting", "Graphics", "Watercolor", "Decorative and applied art", "Sculpture", "Children's creativity", "Porcelain", "Photo", "Literature", "Music", "Video".

The museum's collections include works of local artists that were purchased or gifted at exhibitions and workshops. During the development stage, the museum collection was enriched through the funds of the Ministry of Culture of the Kazakh SSR and the Soviet Union. Thus, drawings of the world-famous Danish cartoonist Bidstrup H., and large part of the canvases of artists from the Soviet republics were registered in the museum's funds.

The museum holds a collection of unique traditional Kazakh musical instruments: some of them were acquired during expedition trips around our region, and some were made to order.
