The Kokkol mine is a unique mining monument. It is located in the valley of the Bolshoy Kokkol River, a left tributary of the White Berel. The Kokkol deposit was discovered by geologist A. Nikonov in 1936 during a regional geological route. in 1938 began work on the extraction of tungsten and molybdenum by hand as well as the construction of a residential and work settlement. At an altitude of 3000 meters, during winter and summer in cold climatic conditions, our ancestors worked and mined ore. The mine operated until 1954. Due to the cold climate, all buildings and equipment are in good condition and represent a wonderful open-air museum.
