The obelisk was unveiled on the 30th anniversary of the Victory. The monument consists of an iron and concrete stele with the dates 1941-1945, the Order of the Great Patriotic War and a plaque. At the foot of the monument is an eternal flame. The stele was erected on May 9, 1975, to the 40th anniversary of Victory. The obelisk is completed with a list of Leninogorsk citizens who died during the war. There are over 5000 surnames on the obelisk.
