On the southern slope of the Listvyaga ridge stretches Maral Lake. The Belaya River flows out of it, running into the Bukhtarma reservoir. Maral Lake or Chaban-Bai is located at an altitude of 1718 meters above sea level.
The lake lies in a washed-out valley of tectonic origin, later cluttered with landslides and glacial deposits. The area of the lake is 2.1 square kilometers, the depth is about 4 meters. Coastal deposits are represented by clay and sandy marsh soils, silted sands, pebbles, with boulders at the sources.
