Lake Dubygalinskoye (Okunki)

Okunki of the Altai Sea

Dubygalinskoye Lake, also called Okunki, is considered to be one of the precious pearls of Eastern Kazakhstan. The lake has been loved by the residents of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey for a long time, it is also popular among fishermen who catch here not only perch, crucian carp and pike, but also goldfish - tench. The lake is located halfway between Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey, near the village of Gagarino, Ulan District. The lake received its name from the Dubygaly Mountain (749 m) standing on its shore. The Dubygalinskoe Lake is famous for its soft water, that lulls you to sleep during a swim in the summer evening, when the air is heavy with the smell of wormwood.
