A new scientific and educational tourist route, "Altai Trails", leading to the foot of the legendary Mount Muztau (Belukha), has been created in the Katon-Karagay State National Natural Park. The starting point of the new route is located near the village of Rahman Springs.
The alternative path runs from Rahman Springs through the Sarsembay tract and continues directly to the foot of the peak.
The creation of this route is due to the difficulty of navigating the shortest and most popular route, "Ak Berel" (Belaya Berel). Because the previous road to Muztau enters the border zone with the Russian Federation, travelers had to bypass difficult areas through marshy and hard-to-reach terrain on the Kazakh side. The new route will make trekking to Mount Muztau much more convenient for tourists.
