JSC NC "Kazakh Tourism" summed up the results of the annual national competition "The Best Tourist Village". The project is aimed at developing sustainable and ecological tourism, as well as promoting rural areas with unique natural, historical and cultural heritage.
According to the results of 2026, the following settlements were included in the top tourist villages of the country:
Bashi (Zhetysu region, Kerbulak district);
Toraigyr (Bayanaul district, Pavlodar region);
Berel (East Kazakhstan region, Katon-Karagay district);
Korobikha (East Kazakhstan region, Katon-Karagay district);
Imantau (North Kazakhstan region, Ayyrtau district).
In 2025, the winners of this competition were the villages of Lepsi (Zhetysu region), Nagi Ilyasov (Kyzylorda region), Khan Ordasy (West Kazakhstan region), Poperechnoye (East Kazakhstan region) and Shabanbay bi (Karaganda region).
It should be noted that rural tourism in Kazakhstan is also highly valued at the international level. For example, in 2023, the village of Saty in the Almaty region was awarded the prestigious "Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism" Award by the UN World Tourism Organization and was among the best tourist villages in the world.
