The tourist map of East Kazakhstan will soon be enriched with new major facilities. Ambitious projects are underway in the Glubokovsky district, transforming the region into a prime destination for active and eco-tourism enthusiasts. This was announced by the Akim of the district, Eldar Tumashinov, at a press briefing of the Regional Communications Service (RCS of East Kazakhstan Region).
Tourism is officially recognized as a key priority for development and investment attraction in the Glubokovsky district. The main focus is on the surroundings of the Gornaya Ulbinka village, where several significant initiatives have been launched simultaneously.
A 30 Billion Tenge Ski Resort A key project for 2026, included in the National Pool, is the construction of a modern ski resort based on "The Forest" restaurant.
What awaits tourists:
Two fully equipped ski runs;
A comfortable 41-room hotel;
A modern spa center, as well as new recreation and service facilities.
The total cost of the project is estimated at 30 billion KZT. This initiative is expected to not only boost the region's tourist appeal but also create over 20 permanent jobs.
Large-Scale "Gornaya Ulbinka" Eco-Park The second major magnet for tourists will be a new recreational zone — a massive eco-park capable of simultaneously accommodating over 2,000 visitors.
Spanning 40 hectares, the park's infrastructure will include:
Well-maintained terrenkurs (health walking trails);
Observation decks with panoramic views of the Altai nature;
Children's and sports areas;
Cozy gazebos for a comfortable outdoor experience.
The opening of the eco-park for residents and guests of East Kazakhstan is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. According to the head of the district, both projects will have a notable impact on the regional economy and elevate the tourist infrastructure of East Kazakhstan to a qualitatively new, modern level.
