International Mongol Rally Finish Line Set for Oskemen

Oskemen is set to host the final stop of the legendary Mongol Rally charity road trip for the third time. On August 22, teams from across Europe will complete their epic journey at the square in front of the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists (DKM). Organizers and participants invite residents and guests of the city to greet the travelers and celebrate their finish.

The Mongol Rally is not a traditional race for speed, but a true test of endurance. Participants cover nearly 16,000 kilometers across mountains, steppes, and deserts without support vehicles or technical crews. In the event of a breakdown, teams must rely solely on their own resourcefulness. Each team plots its own route, and the choice of transport adds an extra challenge: rally rules dictate that participants can only drive old, small-engine cars or ride motorcycles.

Beyond the spirit of adventure, a primary goal of the rally is raising funds for charity. After crossing the finish line in Oskemen, participants decide their own way home: some ship their vehicles as cargo and opt for a comfortable flight, while others make the return trip on the road.
