Three Modern Ecoparks to Be Created and Roads to Top Locations to Be Repaired in East Kazakhstan

East Kazakhstan continues to develop infrastructure for comfortable and eco-friendly recreation. In the near future, systematic improvement of three large-scale natural locations will begin in the region, and the route to popular tourist destinations will become much more convenient.

Transport accessibility is one of the main priorities in tourism development. According to the Akim of East Kazakhstan Region Nurymbet Saktaganov, the repair of key tourist highways is expected to be completed this year. In particular, the quality of the road surface heading to Rakhmanovsky Klyuchi, Ridder, and Shemonaikha will improve. Also planned for this year is the completion of the long-awaited bypass of the Osinovsky Pass, which will make trips along this picturesque route safer and faster.

The implementation of projects to create modern ecoparks will begin in Oskemen, Ulan, and Glubokoe districts. These will be conceptual recreation areas with walking routes, developed basic infrastructure, and an emphasis on preserving the natural environment. The total cost of implementing the projects is estimated at 450 million tenge.

  • "Gornaya Ulbinka" Ecopark (Glubokoe district). The most ambitious project, covering an area of 40 hectares. Currently, sketches have been developed, permits obtained, and the necessary documentation is being prepared.
  • "Berezovaya Roshcha" (Birch Grove) Ecopark (Oskemen). The citizens' favorite green zone on the left bank of the Irtysh River (21.4 hectares) will be transformed into a well-maintained space. Elements of ecological tourism, walking routes, as well as places for active and relaxing leisure in nature will appear here.
  • "Zhasyl Aymak" Ecopark (Ulan district). A new location with an area of 25 hectares will be situated in the Ablaket rural district, along the Oskemen – Samar highway. The project is carefully integrated into the natural landscape: eco-friendly materials will be used during construction. Gazebos, food zones, convenient parking, children's and sports playgrounds, as well as special eco-trails and Nordic walking routes will be equipped for visitors.

Today, the region places a systematic emphasis on the comprehensive development of territories. The main goal is to create a unified, eco-friendly, and comfortable environment that will become a harmonious part of the lives of East Kazakhstan residents and a calling card of the region for its guests.
