Amateur (sport) fishing - fishing of fish resources and other aquatic animals to meet sport and aesthetic needs, sports competitions, as well as for personal consumption of the caught products, carried out with fishing gear that allows only piece-by-piece fishing (non-target fishing gear).

Amateur (sport) fishing is carried out with fishing rods (rods) of all titles (trollers, karmak, fish rods, spinning rods) with hooks not more than five pieces per angler, guns for spearfishing, nets, mormys, loops and crayfish traps not more than three pieces per angler.

Special spinners and rifles for underwater hunting are used outside the recreation area of the population, as well as in fixed fishery reservoirs and (or) areas for recreational fishing, marked by the user of wildlife in special places.
Amateur (sport) fishing in the reserve fund of fishery ponds and (or) areas up to five kilograms per angler per trip, is free of charge without any permits.

Recreational (sport) fishing on reserved fishery ponds and (or) areas is carried out by individuals on the basis of a permit issued by the user of wildlife, which is assigned to the fishery pond and (or) area at their oral or written application.

Fisherman carrying out recreational (sport) fishing in the fishery pond and (or) area has with him:
a permit (for assigned fishery ponds and (or) sites);
a document proving his identity.
