The route begins from the picturesque village of Topkayyn. The group moves through the tract Shabanbulak. Obligatory marking at the checkpoint of the national park. Then the tourists climb the slope of Karamay mountain where they have a beautiful view of the outskirts of Topkayin village and Katon-Karagai village. The trail winds along the tract Matekshe. It is surrounded by mixed coniferous and deciduous forest and plantings of larch planted by the Katon-Karagai forestry farm in 1964.
At the old abandoned sawmill, which was in operation in the 1970s, you can stop for a rest. Here by the mountain stream you can have a snack and rest in the shade of trees.
The group continues up along the Aralbay tract. Along the route, you will find many medicinal plants such as oregano, volodushka, Altai honeysuckle, red currants, raspberries, rose hips and elderberries. On the wet slopes grows Altai onion and goosefoot.
In 4 hours tourists arrive to the ecological camp at the Berkutaul climbing station. Climbers make a tent camp here during the spring and autumn mountaineering and climbing at the top of Berkutaul.
The group stays overnight in two 4-person summer houses in the national park. In addition, the overnight stay of tourists is supposed to be at the bivouac glade.
