"Flaming Cliffs", "City of Spirits", "Proud Beauty", "Martian Valleys" - as well as many other names were given to this stunning area – Kiin-Kerish!
The valley of the famous paleontological monument Kiin-Kerish is located 94 km from the village of Kurchum (2 hours ' drive). Most of the road is dirt, so you should follow the low speed limit, but it's worth it. Photos on the background of "Martian landscapes" are simply magical!
The landscape of the canyon is stunning: scarlet, brick, yellow hills, interspersed with white salt marsh spots, create a fantastically picturesque and mystical picture. From a distance, the rocks and cliffs of the tract look like a flame bursting in the wind.
The soil still preserves the skeletal remains of ancient vertebrates: crocodiles, turtles, salamanders. And in the deposits of Kiin-Kerish, traces of subtropical vegetation were discovered such as palm trees, araucaria and magnolia. It proves that in the distant past there was a completely different climate here.
The best time for a walk and photo shoot in the canyon is a sunny summer day. You can get good shots both in the morning and in the afternoon. But you won't regret if you stay here until evening. Kiin Kerish mesmerizes with its sunset view!
