The road to "Kok-Tau" begins 7 km from the turn to Shybyndykol. You should follow this road to the village of Nizhniye Tainty. The Kok-Tau complex is located in one of the most picturesque areas of East Kazakhstan. The landscape combines mountain-forest pine woods, tipchak steppes and floodplain meadows. Orienteering and "fox hunting" competitions are often organized here.
The undoubted advantage of the area is a fairly large water body - the Tainty reservoir, which is a popular place for fishing, including ice fishing. The surrounding area is home to more than 30 species of mammals: bear, elk, roe deer, wild boar, fox, hare, squirrel as well as more than 70 species of birds, including golden eagle, black stork, and demoiselle crane, which are listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan.
The invigorating air of the pine forests is saturated with phytoncides, which help to boost the overall tonus of the body, and Kok-Tau also offers wellness treatments based on Altai herbs and antlers of the Altai maral.
