Urunkhayka is a village on the eastern shore of Lake Markakol. The Old Austrian Road passes through it, which connects the Katon-Karagay and Kurchum districts.
The village is home to the office and museum of the Markakol Nature Reserve.
There is a medical center and several shops where you can find basic necessities. You can also buy local honey, mushrooms and meat.
There are guest houses. You can agree on food with the owners in advance.
