Aksuat is the administrative center of Tarbagatay District, located in the south-west of the Zaysan Basin between Lake Zaysan and the Tarbagatay Mountains. This place is convenient to stay for the night.
There are few localities along the way. Most of them are located a couple of kilometers from the main highway.
